Nang Yai is a Thai traditional play that uses dried cow skin to carve into characters and use human to hold those characters and dance on stage in front of white cloth and light up fire on back of cloth to brighten the background and the characters will be seen as shadow.

This museum is one projects from the royal thought of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to conserve the local Thai performing art. It locates at Ka-nhom temple, Tambon Soifah on Mae Klong Riverside, 10 km. from Ampur Potharam. The building is traditional Thai house exhibiting history and carving procedure of Nang Yai.

There are 313 pieces of Nang Yai in mint condition to display in the museum. Most pieces of Nang Yai are the characters from Ramayana epic which had been produced since King Rama V reign. Nowadays there is still Nang Yai show at this temple every Saturday at 10.00 – 11.00 a.m. There is also Nang Yai. Festival during 13th – 14th April from 3.00 p.m. – 9 p.m. every year.
