Bang Pa-In Royal Palace

Built by King Chulalongkorn in 1876, Phra Thinang Warophat Phiman or “Excellent and Shining Heavenly Abode” is a Neo-Classic style one-storey mansion as his residence and throne hall. This building has a very European look and contains the throne hall.

The interior is richly decorated with oil paintings depicting significant events in Thai history and scenes from Thai literature. The private apartments of this building in the Inner Palace section are still used by Their Majesties when they reside at Bang Pa-In Palace.
