Ang Thong

Wat Tonson

Well known amongst the Thai as the important outpost of Ayutthaya during the Thai-Burmese war, marking a historical event of ‘Bang Rachan’ (also made into a movie production).

Similar to Suphan Buri’s location, Ang Thong was also shifted eventually landing at the left bank of the Chao Phraya River at Ban Bangkheo and being called Muang Ang Thong.

Muang Ang Thong’s location has been blessed with fertile soil for rice farming and abundance of fish produce, making its name as traditionally believed as Treasure City.
